Emergency sewing kit

Make up a sewing kit to keep handy for emergency with pins, needles, various coloured cotton threads, small scissors. Store in a plastic container or an empty glass jar with a lid.

Supermarket shopping list

Always take a shopping list to the supermarket.  This way you will remember to buy everything you need and will help to reduce the temptation to spend up on unnecessary items and keep your budget under control.

Storing little things

Use empty glass or plastic jars to store small office supplies (pens etc) that you need around the house.

Deodorise your pet litter tray

if you use an indoor litter tray for your cat, sprinkle half a cup of baking soda in the bottom of the tray before you add the litter mix. This will help to keep the tray from smelling bad between litter mix changes. It may help to extend the time between changes and save some money.

Tidying up

Make a point of tidying the living areas each night so you don’t get out of bed and have to face a mess in the morning
