Recycle old newspapers

Recycle your old newspapers by rolling and tying them into a tight cylinder and using them instead of firewood.

Store food in jars

Keep food in your pantry in airtight jars  or plastic containers instead of open packets and the food will stay fresh longer.

You can recycle empty jars and plastic containers that have had other food in them.

Wash the containers and lids and dry thoroughly before re-use.

Water conservation

When preparing vegetables for cooking, use a bowl of water to clean them  Then use the ‘grey water’ to water pot plants.
