No planting until Sunday March 11th, then plant root crops through ‘til Tuesday March 13th.

Yates seed of the month is Yates Radish Gentle Giant; big without being bitter and dry. So try some of these in a couple of rows in the garden or sprinkled over potting mix in a pot. They will be ready to eat in six to eight weeks.

Tips for growing tomatoes

If you grow tomatoes, you need to remove the laterals which are leafy branches which form between the main stem and another branch. This is to make sure the plant puts its energy into flowering and fruiting rather than a whole lot of leafy growth. Read more
