Store food in jars

Keep food in your pantry in airtight jars or plastic containers instead of open packets and the food will stay fresh longer.
You can recycle empty jars and plastic containers that have had other food in them.
Wash the containers and lids and dry thoroughly before re-use.

Ripen kiwifruit quickly

If you have some hard unripe kiwifruit, put them in a bag with an apple and store it in a dark place for a day or two. The apple helps the kiwifruit to ripen more quickly.
